Cignal is looking for a talented Simulation and Modeling Engineer to help us build the next generation of threat detection systems to protect people and transportation infrastructure.
Based in Central Pennsylvania, Cignal is a growing startup and the creator of the Cignal Engine, an advanced rendering and simulation engine used to train artificial intelligence (AI) models for security screening applications. Unlike other types of game engines, the Cignal Engine works outside of the visible spectrum – in X-ray, infrared, and millimeter wave (mmWave) spectra – to create interactive environments that teach AI systems how to see inside objects. It also allows our customers to safely detect threats (like weapons, explosives, narcotics, and contraband) and other illicit items (such as those related to endangered species trafficking), which may be too difficult or hazardous to evaluate in the real world.
As a Simulation and Modeling Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, creating, and testing software models of advanced mmWave imaging systems to simulate passenger screening systems used in airports across the country. You will be personally responsible for helping to make air travel safer while also having a substantial impact on a cutting-edge product.
Candidates should be located within the State College, Pennsylvania region (this may be negotiable based on candidate qualifications). The State College area in Central Pennsylvania, also known as Happy Valley, is home to a variety of entertainment, dining, and educational options, including the Pennsylvania State University with its world-class research facilities. In addition, the region offers affordable living, many outdoor recreational activities in naturally beautiful settings, and charming small and historic towns.
